A two-year postgraduate program designed to prepare expert English-language teachers, teacher trainers, curriculum designers, and ELT researchers through advanced study of pedagogy, linguistics, materials development, and classroom-based research.
Description
The MEd in English Language Teaching at Kathmandu University develops professionals who can enhance the quality of English education in Nepal. The program responds to gaps in teacher preparation, teaching methodology, and ELT material development.
It trains students in current ELT theories, communicative and task-based pedagogy, materials design, classroom assessment, curriculum development, and reflective practice.
Students undertake small-scale research, develop ELT resources, design teacher-training packages, and participate in practicum experiences. The program also requires thesis research aligned with the student’s ELT specialization.
