Off Season Vegetable Producer (OVP) is a 3-month (390 hours) CTEVT short-term technical training focused on practical skills for commercial off-season vegetable production using modern cultivation techniques.
The Off Season Vegetable Producer program prepares lower-level technical workforce capable of producing vegetables outside normal growing seasons through controlled and semi-controlled farming systems such as plastic houses. The curriculum is modular and competency-based, emphasizing field application over theory. Trainees gain hands-on expertise in site selection, soil and fertilizer management, nursery raising, off-season production technologies, pest and disease control, post-harvest handling, storage, and market linkage. The program is designed for immediate entry into wage employment or self-employment, contributing to income generation and poverty reduction.
