Welcome to the Central Department of Public Health. This is the only Central Department under the Institute of Medicine that was established in Bhadra 2075. The Department, based in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, hosts about 225 students at any point of time at bachelors, masters and doctoral level education in public health, health promotion and education, and public health nutrition. Our alumni members are more than 1,500 around the world and are engaged in various professional settings such as government offices, civil society, academics, international organizations and private corporations.

Introduction
- Established in 2075 BS (2018 AD) under Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Medicine (IoM), Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.
- Offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Public Health.
- Originated from TU’s public health programs started in 1986 (undergraduate) and 1991 (postgraduate).
- Autonomous department focused on academic excellence, research, and public health workforce development.
- Mission: Produce competent, socially responsible public health professionals to improve healthcare systems in Nepal and globally.
