

The Masters in Counseling Psychology (MCP) program is offered under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tribhuvan University, located at the CEDA Building, Kirtipur. It was established in 2017 A.D. to prepare skilled mental health professionals.
This program focuses on developing knowledge and practical skills in understanding, assessing, and helping individuals cope with psychological, emotional, and mental health issues. It combines theoretical learning and field-based training to produce competent counselors and psychologists.
The program offers 40 seats each year. Applicants must have at least a Second Division in a relevant Bachelor’s degree such as Psychology, Social Work, Education, Science, Sociology/Anthropology, Health, or Management (with Psychology/OB). Candidates must also pass a one-hour written entrance exam (50 questions, 100 marks) based on merit ranking.
