It integrates theory, field practice, archaeology, conservation science, and sustainable planning, preparing professionals to address challenges of landscape transformation and heritage preservation in Nepal and the South Asian region.
Description
Masters in Landscapes Management and Heritage Studies (LaMHS) examines the interconnectedness of natural landscapes, cultural traditions, archaeological heritage, and development pressures. The program covers conservation philosophy, environmental planning, archaeology, heritage policy, impact assessment, sustainable landscape design, disaster management, and community-based conservation. It uses fieldwork, workshops, internships, project-based learning, and a thesis to develop professionals able to plan, protect, manage, and interpret landscapes and cultural resources. The curriculum responds to Nepal’s fragile ecological environment, rich cultural diversity, and increasing development needs.
