Pokhara University (PU)

Pokhara University (PU) was established in 1997 to expand access to higher education in Nepal's western region, where Tribhuvan University's central administration was seen as too distant and centralized. Headquartered in Kaski district, near Pokhara city, PU has grown significantly and now serves students across multiple provinces through a network of affiliated colleges and constituent campuses.

PU follows a semester-based credit system and uses GPA grading, similar to glossary/kathmandu-university" class="text-blue-600 hover:underline">Kathmandu University. It offers programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. PU's Schools of Engineering, Management, Science and Technology, Humanities, and Health Sciences cover a broad range of disciplines.
